Our Story
Chabad on Campus SW Portland was established in 2022, to serve the Jewish student community of Portland. Chabad is nonpolitical and is a place where every Jew is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. It serves the Jewish community in the urban Colleges throughout SW Portland, including Portland State University, Oregon Health and Science University, and Portland Community College, with the main focus being on Lewis and Clark.
Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere. It has become a home away from home for Jewish students in Portland.
Since its inception, Chabad on Campus SW Portland strives to meet the needs of the community with religious services, and social events, as well as an array of programming including: weekly Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and educational classes.
Chabad on Campus SW Portland is not affiliated with any college or university. It is a local, independent and financially self-supporting entity. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you. We are a nonprofit organization and your donations are fully tax deductible.
